Luke's Christmas show

Luke had his Christmas music program it was so cute! He was very excited about it. He got to play the glockenspiel and they did a cute song in Spanish. Esta Esta Natividad. There was a silly Christmas song where some kids told jokes that Luke loves... What do elves learn at school? the elfabit. Why is Blitzen always wet? he's a raindeer. Luke was proud that he was tall enough to be on the back row. But it was funny because when we got there he was with all these tall girls and he didn't look so big. He has been playing music teacher ever since.

Calebs Native American Project

Caleb has switched to a challenging class. He is doing so well and loving it. We built a Pueblo with clay and a talking feather stick. Yesterday was the class show where they got to share all their projects and knowledge with the parents. The class made Kachina dolls and he also wrote a 2 page report in beautiful cursive!

Halloween Fun!

What a spooky halloweeen it has been with surgery and taking Drugs. Jess has been super dad and husband taking care of everything. Luke the little Devil was really excited about his big pitchfork thing and his 265 peices of candy. Caleb was Harry Potter and loved wearing glasses. He got 300 and something pieices of candy because the neighbor lady decided to give him like 100 sick scooby doo suckers from her bowl. Its all about quantity not quality! Although, I have discovered that Butterfingers do seem to help the kidney!

Stints and Stones may break my bones!

So it has been a long time since I posted. I thought I would give a quick update. I am having another little surgery on Thursday morning where they are going to be able to blast my kidney stone and remove the stint that has been so miserable! Yippppeee! I found out yesterday that they will have to put in another stint for 2 weeks after the surgery. But they promise me it won't hurt so much because it is smaller, bendy and I won't have a stone. (it is called the black beauty and jess really likes that) The good news, my little guy is just cruising around in there and being a wild man! He likes to go over and kick at my stint just to keep me aware of him. I am getting so excited to get him here! Only 12 weeks to go! Thanks to all my good friends and family who have called and brought meals and for Shamarie who drove me to the hospital as I filled my barf bowl, hung out with me for 4 long hours before I got the drugs, and tended my boys until midnight! Jess and the boys have been so good to me as well! And today my doctor hugged me and told me how much he wants to help me feel good. I am indeed very blessed! And you are all invited over this weekend, Jess will be making Stone Soup!

60 SECOND RUN THROUGH THE WAREHOUSE!

So Jess won the most hilarious trip ever! We went to Milwaukee and got 60 seconds to run through a wharehouse filled with awesome stuff! There were strict rules and some seriuos strategy involved. Jess even had a "conference call" a few weeks before all about it. Jess was in charge of gathering as many items as possible and putting them in the cart. I was only allowed to drive the carts. We had 20 minutes to make our plan at the warehouse. Then we had to run as team #6 (out of 45) so we were worried because we did not have much time to watch other teams. I strapped on my maternity belt and Jess made sure to break in his new running shoes that he got specifically for the race. We lined up at the starting line and we were Off!! When the cart was starting to fill up I would run and get another one and meet Jess on the next isle. We ended up filling 3 carts. The last 10 seconds was serious high stress! Our plan was that as they began the countdown 10-9-8 Jess was to run to the BBQ grill at the end of the last isle and lift it off the ground before the buzzer went off. We were doing so awesome and made it to isle 3 but the end was a long way when the countdown started. Jess took off 8-7-6 and suddenly was on his back 5-4 the panic has set in now... but Jess is an athlete and a fast thinker and so while on his back he reached to the isle next to him and grabbed a golf bag and lifted it in the air just as the buzzer went off!! We ended up with 17 nice items! 37 inch plasma tv, sony home theater, GPS, video camera, Nikon digital camera, pots and pans, edger, blower, Bose docking station, DVD player, a pack and play for the the baby.... a golf bag... an iron that Jess accidentally grabbed. My favorite part of the whole race was later when Jess explained his fall to me. He said that his body has never done this to him before, he thinks he was hyperventilating or else he did not breath for 60 seconds because he said that suddenly his legs just gave out, he did not trip he just went down! All things considered, we did really well! What a great memory! If you look closely in the picture you can see the golf bag.

GREAT with Child!

I have decided it is safe to say that we are having a baby!!! We had our 20 week ultrasound and everything looks perfect! Apparently, we make boys! Yep number three is on the way. I am so excited to finally be at the fun part of pregnancy! The other night I was awake from 2-3am because our little guy was doing cartwheels! It is so fun to be busy doing something and feel a little tap, "Hello in there!" Jess is also excited, he reads pregnancy week by week and gives me info about my bulge. The other night I was half asleep, he was reading and came back a minute later with a stethoscope, he listened all over my belly and swears that he could hear the little heartbeat. It is amazing that each little part of our baby is developing, becoming more real and a piece of my heart each day! What a miracle! I feel so thankful that we have been given this overwhelming blessing! So January 20 is the big day! If you have any great boy names that you love...share! This is Caleb and Luke's favorite picture of the baby because he is waving to us!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Luke started 1st grade and Caleb started third grade. They did so great! Luke was jumping all morning and went into his class happy as can be. He is thrilled about his teacher because she is so nice and has a tree house with a ladder in her room. He loved the Chicken nuggets in the lunchroom. And yesterday they looked all over the school for the gingerbread man (even in the bathrooms) The PE teacher saw him run through the gym, he got behind her and yelled "BOO!" finally, the gingerbread man called their classroom on the phone and Mrs Peterson asked if he could share his gingerbread with the kids, he said "yes! and a gallon of milk!"
Caleb was a little nervous because this is the first time he hasn't had a close buddy in his class. He likes his teacher and got the coolest classroom upstairs, it is huge with big windows. He was excited to see that his teacher had three baskets of books and he got to choose from the hard one. She let him borrow a Harry Potter and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I just dropped him off for his 3rd day this morning and when the bell rang I saw 4 boys I did not recognize run right to him. (this was good for me to see) He is such a natural leader and so much fun, I think he will make some good new friends.
I felt more nervous than the boys did! My heart just ached as I walked away and left them both being so brave that first day. And for me this means.... no kids at home! I was dressed, finished grocery shopping and not sure what to do with myself at 10am. It has been incredible to have all this time to get caught up, I want to make the most of it while it lasts!

Summer Fun at Nainey and Grandpas

We loved swimming with the cousins!
Grandpa surprised everyone with his dive in the diving contest...

He taught us all how to doggie paddle.
Luke was on the 4 wheeler before breakfast every morning! I love that toothless grin.

What could any kid love more than swimming and 4 wheeling all day?

Lagoon and "The Goon"

This is Pfizer Lagoon Day! We had a blast even in 103 degrees. Caleb is a maniac and loves to ride all the big, scary rides! But he doesn't like the terror ride! Luke was tallenough his year for Colosus and Wicked, the first time he rode Wicked he was screaming "I hate this!" but when it stopped he said,"lets go again!"

This is "the goon"

2 weeks ago I got the greatest surprise! After a joyous day at cub day camp in 100 degrees, I was wiped out on the couch. Jess walked in from work and he had Kelly with him! She flew in from California! They had been planning for a month, I was clueless! Kelly was able to stay from Thurs- Mon we had so much fun! Eating out, staying up way too late, laughing, playing games...What a blessing to have such a special friend in my life! And a cute husband to pull it all off.

Family Reunion

It was so fun to get to be together with the whole family! We spent a week together in Idaho Falls. Spence and Sharon came from South Dakota with their 4 girls and Jen and Ron stopped in the middle of their move to Twin Falls! (We are so excited to get to have counsins close to us!) We had a busy week going to Jackson Hole and doing the Alpine Slide, Yellowstone, golf for dads and kids, Tea party and nails for the girls, zoo, fireworks, playing games and best of all I didn't have to think of what to cook for a whole week! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for great memories!

10 days of cousin Fun!

Grandma and Grandpa had endless activities for the kids to do! Each of the 10 kids got a house to paint.
This along with Bingo and prizes, water activities, spooky stories, fireworks..... there is something so special about cousins and they had a blast together!

We took a trip to Yellowstone one day.

This is waiting for "Old Faithful" who seems to be getting less faithful it was 25 minutes late!

After 7 days as a single mom, I am celebrating Father's Day Again!

I am so Lucky to have such an amazing Dad! He has a way of making me feel just the way Luke does in this picture! And Jess thank you for being such a great Dad, who would've thought back in the 4th grade when you were busted for "urinating on the bathroom walls" that you could turn out to be such a provider! Jess makes up for all my parental shortcomings! And gives Caleb someone who can a least catch the ball. I love you both with all my heart! You are two of my greatest gifts from God! And I know I could not survive without you!

Luke Meikle Astros #10

Luke had his first baseball game today. He was so good! We were surprised when he wacked that ball and took off running. He also had some saves at 3rd base that were impressive. he got hit in the chest with the ball one time and didn't even flinch he just grabbed it and slammed his little foot on the base.

Caleb Meikle Nationals #10

The boys are playing baseball for the first time this year! They both had thier first games today. Caleb is on the Nationals. He is so excited about wearing a cup! (the waddeling is just a sign of manhood) He had some awesome hits today and played shortstop. he has always been a natural athlete. He woke up at 6am and said he had that funny feeling in his stomach because he was so excited for his game!

A Day on Friday Harbor

Space needle and Mariners Game

Our get away to Seattle

Jess and I went to Seattle last week. The boys had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa and we got some time to ourselves. We slept in late, went to movies and went shopping. Nordstroms had an entire floor of shoes and handbags! And the half yearly sale! After a "happy"9 years, Jess convinced me to try a new fragrance, after much deliberation and compromise, I now wear "euphoria" by Clavin Kline. We found some awesome outlets as well. We did all of the tourist things... We went to the top of the space needle, we went on an underground tour of the city (what used to be the city long ago), we took a ferry ride to Friday Harbor and rented this cool little scoot car, Jess had to drive with his knees by his ears, but he loved every minute of it. Trav and Mindy drove up for a few days. We went to fun restaurants and to the Mariners vs Red Sox game. Jess is still putting out an aura of garlic from the "world famous garlic fries". And I ate an entire footlong hot dog at the game!

Divine Design Dinning Room in Progress

My mom came to visit me on Wednesday. She got here in time to see the tears as the Furgesons left for their new adventure in California. It was so nice to have her here! We went shopping and ate out a lot. We worked on my dinning room decor. The only positive to the Furgesons move is that they sold me their Table. We also found the perfect bench for the entry way. My Dad came up on Friday night and so we got to see him too. Even when you are 33 some times you just need your mom! Thanks Mom and Dad! Love you!

Bull Rides!

My parents came for a visit. This is Grandpa giving Luke a bull ride. The ride begins with the bull sleeping until Luke insults him a few times then he gets mad and starts bucking and snorting. Luke can hold on pretty long but once he is off the true attack begins. I fear for the bulls back, but Luke seems too be able to get alot of rides! Later that day my Dad asked for some neosporin he pulled up his pant legs and the skin had been rubbed off both of his knees. I know he still felt it was worth it.

Our First Pinewood Derby

Jess helped the boys create cars for the derby. He isn't really Mr handyman so he got a book and read up on some secrets. He sanded one wheel so that it would not touch the track. Caleb painted it Utah Jazz colors. (His is the light blue one) Caleb's car did pretty well it won twice. Luke was so excited he wanted to make a car too. We did not have a car kit for him so Jess gave him a block of wood and hammered on some wheels. (turns out they were not too even) At the end of the night there was an open race for little brothers. Luke was so excited. Unfortunately, his car only made it about half way down the track. You should have seen Jess's face standing there with all the other Dads. Jess hurried and glued some nickles on the bottom and tried it again. It did a little better. Luke was a "great sport", and Caleb won for "sportiest" car. All in all , "it was a good win for us"-Karl Malone

Luke Lost his First Tooth!

Last night we were at Jess softball game when suddenly... Luke lost his first tooth! It is so tiny! He was excited and a little worried about the blood. He told me that his tongue was just so confused it wanted to fill in the hole with itself. At bedtime we wrote a note to the toothfairy explaining that since it was his first tooth and so cute that he would like to keep it. We put the note under his pillow. It worked! This morning (or sometime last night) he found a crisp dollar bill and 3 quarters under his pillow. Luke says that the tooth fairy pays a lot when it is your first. He told me that last night he kept hearing little fairy footsteps under his pillow and so he would peek under to see if the note was still there. He said that the third time he checked it was money and it was even before he fell asleep! She is a sneaky one that toothfairy! I was amazed!

Furgeson Final Countdown (and it hurts!)

We are all aching inside because this is the Furgesons last week in Boise. We have shared so many great memories together and we know there will be more to come, but just not as often. We have loved Micheal and his "fits", his love of Troy Bolton and Zelda, his little fists shaking to Paralyzer. I almost had him convinced to stay and become Micheal meikle until he found out about a little boy named Ollie that will live next door. But micheal, "you are always invited!" We love Julia who can hold her own with the boys and worships Jess. And Will and his "refreshing" outlook and huge vocabulary, he has been a wonderful friend to Caleb. Jared's love of games, philosophies on life and Enrique vocals. And Kelly... I guess the indigo girls said it best, "the best thing you've ever done for me, was to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life afterall." We have spent lots of time venting, escaping, or crying but we have spent at least part of each day laughing! Thank you for bringing so much fun into our lives! We will miss you all so very much! We love you!
